BOOK REVIEW: The Saint by Kelsey Clayton

(Haven Grace Prep 2)
Author: Kelsey Clayton
Published: April 23rd, 2020
Source: GR

DELANEY

Cruel.
Heartless.
A mistake waiting to happen.

Knox Vaughn is the epitome of a bad boy.
He's trouble in a sexy-as-sin package.
I know it.
They know it.
Even he knows it.

But, it's like a moth to the flame.
I can't stay away—even though I'm going to get burned.
You know what they say,
The sinners are much more fun.
And this saint is changing the game.

KNOX

Sweet.
Innocent.
Valedictorian.

Delaney Callahan is perfect,
Too perfect for me.
Hell, she's too perfect for anyone.

She's an angel,
But with me, she's playing with the devil.
I'm the last thing a woman like her needs.
And yet, I can't keep my hands—and mouth off of her.
We're from two different worlds,
Worlds that can't possibly work.
I'd do anything for her,
But I can't be the SAINT she deserves.

REVIEW

“Jesus Christ. Corruption looks so fucking good on you.”

I always loved a good bad boy, good girl love story and this book can attest to that. Its been a while since I read The Sinner book one in the HGP series but I still remember Delaney and Knox characters arc and I'm so glad I finally got to read their own romance! I know the plot line seems cliché but it all comes down on how the author will execute and adds a distinct flavour to the story. IMO Kelsey somehow makes the cliché story more interesting and worthwhile reading. The story wasn't overplay and dull. Characterization wise on point and three dimensional. All around its a great story!

“I’m the devil reincarnated. Your living fucking nightmare. Made of stone, with no feelings for anyone or anything.”

Everyone may have been right—Knox Vaughn is dangerous. A giant red flag, warning others to stay away, but red always has been my favorite color.

Remi Tanner wasn’t part of the plan. But when I see my uncle doting on her, I know she’s going to help me destroy him.

Test her.
In the end, I’ll break her.

Ace Jagger wasn’t a good guy. But he swept into my life like a storm, and I’m caught up in the aftermath.

He’s cruel.
Calculating.
In the end, I never stood a chance.

She might be a Sterling Prep princess, and I might be the guy from the wrong side of the tracks, but one thing's for sure... I won’t stop until I get what I want.
Revenge.

 Untouchable by Sam Mariano

(Dark Romance)
Author: Sam Mariano
Released Date: December 16th, 2018
Source: GR

The bully isn't supposed to win.

Senior year was off to a rough start: lube in my locker, panties on my front porch, unimaginative name-calling. See, I got a player suspended from the football team for harassing me, and in my small Texas town, you don’t mess with the football players—even if they mess with you first.

I didn’t care if it was an unpopular thing to do; I stood up for myself… and in doing so, opened Pandora’s Box.

I never dreamed I would attract the attention of locally worshipped star quarterback, Carter Mahoney. Never imagined his coveted attention would turn out to be such a nightmare. Beneath his carefully constructed façade lurks a monster, a predator looking for the perfect prey to play with. Now, since I’m the girl no one likes or believes, I guess I’m the perfect target for his dark games and twisted desires.

After surviving my first encounter with his casual depravity, all I really want is for Carter to leave me alone.

But all he seems to want is me.

Warning: This book is provocative. It is categorized as DARK ROMANCE for a reason. It will not be for everyone. If you are a reader with certain triggers or sensitivities common to the dark romance genre, please heed the author’s note at the beginning of this book.

BOOK REVIEW: Wicked Saints by Veronica Eden

(Sinner and Saints 1)

Author: Veronica Eden

Released Date: January 2020

Source: Goodreads

GEMMA
He stole my first kiss… and now he thinks everything else is his.

I said no to the one person no one at this school dares to refuse.

Now I’m targeted by jealous girls, guys that compete to be the first to “break the prude”, and by him. After one kiss, the king of the school hunts me down like I’m a conquest to win. He’ll have to fight harder than that, because I’m no one’s trophy.

They all want a piece of me, but I will not bend or break for them.

LUCAS
No one refuses the king.

One case of mistaken identity and a hasty kiss turned my world upside down.

The new girl refused me. Not only that, she threw down the gauntlet. That won’t stand. No one ever says no to me. This school is mine and she’ll learn her place as a loyal follower or her life is going up in flames.

I’ll make her say yes. She’ll be screaming it before I’m finished breaking her.

Warning: Wicked saint is a dark new adult high school bully romance intended for readers 18+. This book is part of a series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. This mature new adult romance contains dubious situations and intense sexual/violent content that some readers might find triggering or offensive. Please proceed with caution.

REVIEW

I'm gonna be honest I felt disconnected with Gemma & Lucas no matter how dirty talker Lucas is, it isn't working.

I feel like Lucas characterization are overplayed, he's hot and cold, ultra possessive and a jerk bully, thinking that
he's one of those guys God gift to women!🙄

I'm just so disappointed on Gemma how easily she forgiven him after that bullshit he did. No grovelling or whatsoever!

The only part of the book that i liked so much was the bonus Epilogue.

BOOK REVIEW: All The Little Lies by S.J. Sylvis

(A High School Bully Romance)

Author: S.J. Sylvis

Released Date: June 18th, 2020

Source: Goodreads

English Prep stands tall with its ivy-covered exterior and old, wrought-iron doors. The stone gargoyles sit at the school’s entrance, knowing just as much as anyone: I don’t belong.

Once upon a time, I did. I belonged in the “it” crowd with all the other well-endowed kids, but now, I am no longer welcome.

Not after five years away from this place.
Not after the scandal that landed me on the wrong side of the tracks.

I’d be lying if I said I’m not looking forward to seeing the one person who was always by my side. My old best friend. My safe place.

Only, Christian isn’t the same boy I left behind. His cold, brooding, devastatingly attractive glare sends chills down my spine. My old best friend doesn’t welcome me with open arms, and I have no idea why. Lies continue to fall from our lips.

Christian wants me gone.
But I’m determined to stay.

REVIEW

All The Pretty Lies
S.J. Sylvis

description

I plunged my tongue inside her mouth, tasting every lie, deceit, and ugly truth that was on her lips.

When I'm reading this I did not EXPECT to like this, perhaps due to the fact that S.J. Sylvis is a new author for me I haven't read anything from her and I'm so happy that I have now♚. Because I tell you, this is such a good high school bully romance with a little bit of mystery, plus the heroine is a bad-ass bitch and a hero that will do anything for her eventually Overall I truly enjoy reading this I assumed at first that maybe this will be the same with most of bully romance out there same old, same old and I'm glad that it isn't. I can't wait to read more by this Author.

“I know there’s been a huge gap of time between us, and other constraints of the past, but this…” Christian took my hand and placed it on his chest. I could feel his heart thumping against my palm. “This has always beat for you. Even when I wanted to hate you, it beat for you.”

“When all the little lies tasted bitter on my tongue, you were the one truth I couldn’t hide from. It’s you. It’s always been you.”

BOOK REVIEW: King of Nothing by Jacie Lennon

(Boys of Almadale 1)

Author: Jacie Lennon

Released Date: July 16th, 2020

Source: Goodreads

She’s the one thing he wants nothing—and everything—to do with.

Corbin

I’m one of the kings at Almadale Prep.

I act the part, put on the mask, do my duty.

But lies and betrayal aren’t a game to me, no matter how well my fellow kings play.

So, when Landry arrives, invading my life and my thoughts, I try to forget her.

Forget her long brown hair, piercing blue eyes, and the patient way she breaks through my walls.

She gets under my skin, but my secrets make wanting her impossible.

My brothers hate her, and I should hate her too.

She threatens everything I’ve been working toward.

In my world, it’s hard to become a king … but easy to fall off the throne.

Landry

Moving across the country to attend the prestigious Almadale Prep for my senior year of school wasn’t in my plans.

Neither was gaining two new brothers and their friend as my personal tormentors.
They hate me on sight, and I have no idea why.

I try to steer clear of them, but that’s not so easy when Corbin’s moss-green eyes, magnetic touch, and seemingly hard facade keep me fascinated.

I shouldn’t let him take over my thoughts and my heart.

I shouldn’t be reeling when he pulls away just as fast.

He says I’m no good for him, but I might be exactly what he needs.

In this world, it’s hard to handle the kings… but easy to fall for one.

King of Nothing is a bully romance. It contains themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers.

REVIEW

Well this is just an Okay bully high school romance read for me. Nothing special, same plot to every Bully HS Romance out there. The first 60% book mark is sooo boring I don't feel connected with the main characters, not so much banter, the angst wasn't enough for me. Such a shame this could been a 5 stars read lot of potential to be. But the plot and characters aren't developed enough In my opinion. Still this wasn't a bad book by any means, there's so much out there🙃 and I'm banking more on a neutral feels.

BOOK REVIEW: Tell Me Pretty Lies by Charleigh Rose

(Standalone New Adult Bully Romance)

Author: Charleigh Rose

Released Date: April 5th, 2020

Source: Goodreads

Three things my mother acquired when she became engaged:

1. A brand new Tiffany's ring.
2. A lavish home on Heartbreak Hill.
3. Three privileged stepsons.

The last thing I expected was to fall for one of them, least of all Thayer Ames.
Beautiful, brooding, and untouchable.
I knew it was a bad idea. He warned me himself.
But he was a thunderstorm, and I never could resist the rain.
It was perfect…
Until it wasn’t.
One night was all it took for our world to crumble, leaving only secrets and lies between us.
Now, I have to face him again, but the boy I used to know has become the man who loves to hate me.

REVIEW

This is my third book read by Charleigh Rose, and I like it as expected. Shayne and Thayer romance is the perfect mirror of love to hate /bully romance. The level of angst, the push and pull relationship and the off the chart chemistry.

I just wish the Epilogue wasn't rushed, I feel like there should be more, and I get that there's a second book coming, It's just that I am not contented, it should be a five star read if its not for those reason.

Overall, this was an awesome read. I'm thrill for Holden book.

Trust me, I should know.
I’m the girl who's watched him manipulate and ruin and break—the nobody he’s done all those things and so much more to.
Saint swears he had his reasons.
He vows that he’s not the enemy.
He even promises to tear down kingdoms to keep me safe. To possess me. To keep me.
I think he’s wrong.
Because we were star-crossed—the vicious god and the unsuspecting mortal—from the moment I stepped foot on campus.
And there’s only one way this will end.

At Angelview Academy, secrets, lies, and betrayal always win.

How do I know?
I’m the girl whose future just went up in flames.
The outsider from the wrong side of the tracks.
The mortal who didn’t bow to Angelview’s resident god, Saint Angelle.
He said he’d own me, and he did—every inch, from my mind to my body to my soul.
Saint even promised to break me.
That’s where he screwed up.
Because every god should know you can’t break a girl that’s already broken. A girl who’s been shaped by secrets, lies, and betrayal since the day she was born.
That’s why this time around, the elite won’t win.
I will.

Not as good as book one, I hated Mallory's stupid decision-making most 80% in the book, it's so tiring and stressful at all times😓.

Regardless can't wait for book 3!

At Angelview Academy, Saint Angelle is considered God.
But don't be fooled by his ridiculous name or that pretty face because Saint? He’s as wicked as they come.

He vows to own every inch of me.
He even promises to make my senior year a living hell.
I don't believe him, though.
Because if angels can fall, so can so-called gods.
