BOOK REVIEW: Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields

(Magnolia Cove 1)

Author: Ella Fields

Released Date: March 4th, 2019

Source: Goodreads

From bestselling author Ella Fields comes an all-new, turbulent, new adult romance.

Dashiell Thane wasn’t a nice guy.
He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.
Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives.
Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.

All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths.

You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.
You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.
And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend.
Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.

REVIEW

“She was the one constant in my life. A pillar of light among the ever-gray bullshit that stalked from one day to the next.”

I personally enjoyed reading Dash and Peggy's story, funny banter and cheesy lines. At first I'm not really a big fan of Peggy dumb actions. She's so blindsided by her feelings to Bryon that she was unable to see that what is she looking for was right in front of her eyes already, then when she finally come to her senses, then Dash had to fucked it up. What I really like about this book was the grovelling part, I'm so proud of Peggy's decision to not forgive him easily, stand to her firm decision and even point out his stupid mistake. At first I really liked the idea, and then I dislike it anymore, IMO it was overplayed, I get its in the title Breakup and I just think it take away the romance between main characters, we don't see enough moments of then together as an actual couple, I was expecting more and then it crashes down by the end . Its was ended abruptly.

“But those who hadn’t had their heart broken were nothing but foolish dreamers to think they could handle it.”

Peggy and Dash—more than just best friends.
